IN2TRACK3: we are very happy to work as third linked party of ProRail in the Shift2Rail project IN2TRACK3. We will be working together with my colleagues from TUDelft Zhen Yang (tribometer), Chen Shen (track stiffness), Jan Moraal (ABA), Jurjen Hendriks (ABA), the professors Zili Li and Rolf Dollevoet, partners from ProRail including Arjen Zoeteman, and partners from Trafikverket in Sweden. Our work will focus on three challenges: 1) demostration of ABA based rail defect detection in a freight dominated line in Sweden (Iron Ore Line), 2) further development of a new tribometer using our V-Track, and 3) development of track stiffness estimation techniques. Information from this project can be found here: IN2TRACK3 and Twitter.
Demostration and final conference H2020 Project NeTIRail: we extended the capabilities of ABA measurement to detect defects under different speeds and monitored a regional railway line with a passenger train that was in operation. We also investigated switches and crossings, rail waves, and corrugation. Other videos in the youtube channel of the project.
News about projects
May 24, 2018, the final conference of the H2020 project NeTIRail-INFRA was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. TUDelft participated mainly in two task: in WP2 with research about short pitch corrugation and in WP4 with research about deployment of ABA measurements using trains in operation. Here the links to the two presentations I did: (WP2 Corrugation), (WP4 ABA in Romania). You can find more videos about the project in the Youtube channel: NeTIRail-INFRA Youtube Channel. Overview of WP4 Monitoring and smart technology can be seen here WP4 NeTIRail-INFRA, and a summary of our tested ABA system in Romania here WP4 ABA.
September 28, 2016, Jan Moraal, Jurjen Hendriks, Dirk Doedens and Alfredo Núñez, a team of the Section of Railway Engineering of the TUDelft is travelling to Brasov-Romania, for the first measurement campaign of ABA in that country, in the framework of the NeTIRail-INFRA project.
